Gordon's CDs
Canadian Barn Dance
|
Sure as the Sunrise This recording is a blend of sounds that have become familiar to Gordon's many fans across the globe. The usual line up features accordion, fiddle, piano, bass, guitar, banjo, drums, smallpipes & whistles. All of the music was arranged by Gordon which includes 4 of his own compositions. Also included are some popular dances such as The Gay Gordons and Canadian Barn Dance. There is a duet between accordion and piano (Bugler's Holiday), and the beautiful airs - Hector The Hero and Samantha's Lullaby featuring Gordon's son Fraser on smallpipes & low whistle. This is the 19th recording that Gordon has made and the second on his own label. (GP Recordings) The CD title has thoughts of the horseman who was the most respected of all farm workers. With his trusty "pair" of Clydesdale horses he could undertake almost any task up to twelve hours a day and usually six days a week. Committed, reliable and faithful - "Sure as the Sunrise" On the sleeve notes Gordon writes: "I would like to thank the musicians for their fantastic contribution to this recording. This CD was recorded in one day, each track being rehearsed and then recorded. It is their excellent reading, improvising and playing skills that make it all possible..." |

Sands of Kuwait

Hand Made in Scotland This CD is typical of the music that I play at my various concerts, dances, ceilidhs and accordion and fiddle clubs. There are many favourite dance tunes, from the Gay Gordons to Strip the Willow and the Dashing White Sergeant. Several of my own tunes feature including my most requested tune, The Furrows End. Other popular tracks include The Sands of Kuwait and The Virginia Reel. There are 17 tracks in total. This recording introduces my 17 year old son, Fraser, on smallpipes and whistles and he features on 5 of the tracks. The CD was recorded and mastered by Stuart Hamilton at: Castle Sound Studios, Pencaitland , Scotland - castlesound.co.uk. The musicians are listed below and are all well known and highly respected. We had great fun making this recording which we hope will set your feet tapping! |
